Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SMO1.io (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

SMO1.io is a URL shortening and analytics platform with gamification features. The Service allows you to create shortened URLs, track click analytics, generate QR codes, earn experience points (XP), unlock achievements, and manage links through a web dashboard and API.

3. Accounts

You must create an account to use most features of the Service. When creating your account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your password and account
  • Promptly update any information that changes
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Create links to malware, phishing, or other malicious content
  • Distribute spam or engage in bulk unsolicited messaging
  • Host or link to illegal content, including pirated material
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, access controls, or security measures
  • Manipulate gamification metrics (XP, achievements, streaks) through automated or fraudulent means
  • Use the API in a way that degrades service for other users

We reserve the right to disable any shortened link and suspend any account that violates this acceptable use policy, without prior notice.

5. Plans and Billing

The Service offers free and paid subscription tiers. Free accounts are subject to usage limits on the number of links, API keys, and analytics retention.

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through our payment provider (Polar). You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will be notified of any price changes via email before they take effect.

6. API Usage

Access to the SMO1.io API is subject to rate limits based on your plan tier. You must authenticate API requests using API keys generated in your account settings. API keys should be kept confidential and not shared publicly. We reserve the right to revoke API keys and restrict access if we detect misuse or violations of these Terms.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, branding, features, and underlying code, is owned by SMO1 and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of any content you submit through the Service (such as destination URLs). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and display your content as necessary to operate the Service.

8. Link Availability

We strive to maintain high availability for all shortened links, but we do not guarantee that links will remain active indefinitely. Links may be disabled if they violate our Acceptable Use policy, if your account is suspended or deleted, or if the Service is discontinued. We are not responsible for any loss resulting from disabled or expired links.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SMO1.io and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may delete your account at any time through the account settings.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
